House of the Boredom

There is a big difference between building suspense and just having the camera rolling while absolutely nothing happens. I guess the director never learned this.

I agree, excellent use of suspense and I love the throwback to the older style of movies. The payoff was atrocious and was almost cartoony.

Plus Samantha didn't wipe after going toilet. Was that a thing of the 70's/80's?

The thing is, I didn't even find it suspenseful. The main character is in no real danger throughout most of the movie. We're just watching her walk around a house that we already know is dangerous while the camera slowly reveals to us what we already know: this house is dangerous. There's no sense of movement, no plot progression, no character growth. Just nothing. Then for a payoff, an enormous cliche. I can't believe people are giving this a positive review, saying it's some kind of throwback masterpiece. Even the scary movies in the 70's had some form of plot progression. This movie is a turd. Plain and simple. A turd.

I rented this movie for almost 20 dollars from Dish Network for my sister's birthday and it was a complete waste of time and money...House of the Boredom is right!

This was one movie where I was actually hoping for more jump scares. I didn't enjoy just staring at the scene for so long with no movement, no creepy thing slowly revealing itself - the scene just ends and you think, oh, um.

Yawn, it was very boring
