it had a good 80's feel to it like the old ones. As far as the music and shooting goes. Good creepy atmosphere. But nothing ever happend. College girls broke, looks for babysitting job, calls number, sets her up, eats pizza, eats more pizza, gets drugged, get attacked by some satanic cult followers and ends up preggers. It was way to boring. A lot of standing around. Investigating rooms. Just to find out there satanic cult members. The movie was on Netflix. It had like a star and a half. I IMDb it and it had somewhat of a descent score and then RT had it at like 80% so I was like okay. Watched it and bleh. Terrible film. I'm gonna stick to the netflix review from now on. The Babdook had a one or two star but it was acclaimed everywhere. Watching it and it sucked so bad.

Lol yeah I had the misfortune of watching the Babadook myself along with the Witch. Way too over hyped for their own good. All the power to the filmmakers for getting noticed though, can't knock them for that.

The babadook is academy award winning material compared to this garbage movie

I dont know why its so highly rated in this genre? It must be out of nostalgia to older movies, but the only thing this movie shares with them is the wardrobe...it LOOKS like a good ole 70s/80s horror movie...until you actually watch it.

Good movie for insomniacs, not for horror enthusiasts

Wow. The Babadook was terrible. The House of the Devil wipes its ass with The Babadook.

Yes, it is kind of dull until the ending. Most of the running time is just a girl exploring a creepy old house alone. I thought the movie was just average. I've seen much better and much worse. I can definitely understand why people would dislike it, though.

the worst part was how she was able to escape during the ritual scene with several people looking over her
