how do high paid men get fired?

sorry for my ignorance i never had a job before (i have my own business) but i dont understand how high paid people get fired..shouldnt they fire the ones who are new?

ben affleck had a super big house , i assume he'd be earning like 500k a year or something..that is really big, also he was the bread winner in the family. seemed kinda young to be in a high paying job position in his company.

his wife also seems like a spoiled biatch, sure shes sexy and good looking but is very annoying.

Normally they don't. The severance bonuses for them is too much and the impact on laying them off is so big that they ususally go down with the company.

It still does happen though. I work for a large software company and I've seen SVPs and C-level executives get laid off. Granted, they don't walk away with 2 week for every year. I've seen them get as high a five years salary plus full benefits. So much for being fired.

reply

Well the way i see it is, some companies have high paid men that accomplish the same tasks or sales then the "new guys" so if you can get someone to do the same job for much less, the company will opt for that route. In some cases companies fuse two departments together to have one (high paid supervisor) instead of two (high paid supervisors)

By the way house was worth 850k and his job paid 120k

Did the OP watch this movie at all? Affleck's wife was the most level-headed and persepective character in it.

Now u know why they call me Chicago Wind, fool.

Level headed?

She should've ALWAYS been using her nursing degree whether he was employed or not. Their son was old enough that she didn't have to stay at home with him 24/7. She could've been working too to pay the bills.

It is easier to critique than create

They get fired all the time. But usually the company will let them resign to save face and the reason is "to spend more time with the family" or "to pursue other interests".

High paid men get fired. It happens all the time... companies have layoffs and 'trim costs' by letting employees go. But: a woman working because she doesn't need to be home when she has teenagers? HAH! That's when kids are really in need of someone knowing where they are and who they are with. That's when someone does need to be home, to keep tabs of who's coming and going and what's going on under their roof...

reply

Most kids, especially teenagers, go to school 9-5, they aren't at home for the better part of the year...

reply

If a mother can afford it, it is best to be at home after the kids' school hours. When they are babies, I believe it's very important to be at home with them for at least the first two years.

And fine if mom doesn't want to do it, dad can do it as well.
