beautiful

i just saw this movie and i am so glad i chose it because at first i wanted to see 'lets make money' but then i remembered that this movie was shown at the jewish film week and i didnt see it so i bought a ticket for lemon tree - thats how its called.

and i can say: WATCH IT!

it shows a conflict between israelis and palestine people in a 'beautiful' way- i know beautiful is not the right word but the way the story tells about a conflict between the people is amazing. its so simple and moving and i reallly realllly recommend it to everyone!

Hiam was out of this world. She is my favorite actress. Also Rona Lipaz-Michael was fantastic. Both women should get a joint academy award.

Eran Riklis is becoming quite a feminist! It must be because his writing partner is a Palestinian woman!

Good things can come when Israelis and Palestinians work together. Riklis films are prove of that!

Absolutely agreed, magnificent film, Etz Limon was one of the most important films of 2008 and deserved an Oscar win for Best Foreign Film.

Hiam and Rona, especially Rona, were spectacular, the art direction was breathtaking, and I loved the choice to present the dialogue (which was not even necessary) in three different languages.

Years and years of emotional and psychological and physical suffering, and exhaustion and paranoia and distrust, experienced by both the Palestinians and Israelis, were perfectly captured by the richly photographed and symbolic images of the landscape, the facial expressions of the actors, Hiam's measured and purposeful movements, and the music.

Indeed! what a wonderful picture, Hiam Abbass looks as pretty as always in her (perhaps) best role thus far.
The movie subject reminded me a beautiful lebanese movie called "Le cerf-volant" (The Kite).

If you liked "Lemon Tree", then surely you will enjoy "Le cerf-volante" too.
