this movie is good

I have both palistian friends and have isreali friends , and for what ever you think of the conflict this movie while attempting to find hope for the palistian , the courts ruling ,the ending suggest that there is a sense of hopelessness , the wall the bare trees... etc . That said it was a very good film . well done ,

It is not only a good movie, it's also a relevant movie with a positive message. This movie and 'The Band's Visit' are amongst the best movies dealing, in a serious way, the complex relationships between the israelites and their muslim neighbors.
I'm glad I've watched it.

It was such a beautiful film, well shot and acted. I know a lot of people have seen this as a film highlighting the conflicts between Israel and Palestine but also saw it as a class divide. Salma's lemon grove personified herself, she was at one with nature and the grove is the main aspect of he life. Then the Defence Minister Navon moves in with state of the art technology and comfort whilst destroying Salma's property thinking it is a threat, in a sense destroying Salma as a person.

Yet when he needs some lemons for his lavish party Navon does not hesitate to take some lemons from the grove showing his lack of character, only using the grove when it benefits him without thinking about what it means to Salma. Navon is violating her as he has the power to do so which shows the class divide.

"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not".

I also enjoyed it, this is the first Israeli film I have ever seen. It is sad she had to destroy some of her trees. However I am glad the Defense Minister's wife developed a conscience.

No it isn't. Try-hard in every sense, including the length, which could be cut down to 13 minutes.
