CCB actually kinda rules. It doesn't try to do too much, doesn't overstay its welcome, is wildly anachronistic in places but not obnoxiously so, has enough authentically historical touches to stimulate thought and discussion, has the odd 'woke' touch but never hectors, has a lot of cool production design, has plenty of good jokes, and has uniformly great performances and a kind of star-making one from titular lead Bella Ramsey. I'm somewhat suprised to report that I think that CCB stands some chance of becoming a YA classic.
