Did you like it!

I thought this was really entertaining.

After giving it another chance or two, I can say I like it just fine now. The first time I watched it was a different story. I felt it was meaningless, exhausting to watch, lacked any substance and - while I hesitate to throw this overused word around - seriously pretentious. Other than Hardy, I initially didn’t see any redeeming qualities in this film.

Flash forward to today, and I now appreciate the aesthetics, direction, pacing and overall visual style of Bronson. Mind you, I’m not a big Refn fan and you can see many of his familiar traits in Bronson (it can be style over substance), albeit the insanity of Bronson certainly makes for a fun and engaging movie watch. But on the whole, Tom Hardy is the main reason why this film has grown on me. His immersive and commanding performance is a pure masterclass in acting.

P.S. Bitchin’ theme song!

Easily one of my favorite British films, right next to A Clockwork Orange. In my opinion, it's a classic.
