Why did they continue to shave his head when he was in the asylum? Surely they didn't trust him with a razor.

reply

I don't see why they wouldn't trust him with a razor (as in shaving attire, not a straight blade - of course). He never showed any signs of being suicidal, so they could easily give him a razor to shave, and then just check that he didn't dismantle it to remove any blades for later use.

I wasn't thinking about suicide. He could have done a lot of damage to others with a razor. You're more trusting than I am.

reply

Yeah, I got that.
That's what I meant by letting him use a razor to shave, but take it back afterwards, and make sure to check that he hasn't removed any of the blades (for later use).

The guy constantly wants to fight everyone for no reason at all and you think they should allow him a razor?

reply

It seems long sentences are hard for people to finish.
So I will rewrite this - short.

They could have given him a razor.
A standard issue plastic razor.
Let him shave his head, while he is alone.
Take the razor back.
Check it to see that all the blades are there.
If they are: he's good to go.
If they are not: search him until they find the missing blade(s).

But why would they want to help him shave his head? Why would they even accomodate him on this? Why would they even care?
At any rate, I would't want to be the one to hand him the razor and I sure as hell wouldn't want to try to take it from him.

You've obviously never been locked up. Inmates can make a weapon out of anything. Just because a razor isn't a straight razor doesn't make it any less dangerous. It's a flaw in the movie. But it's more important to the movie that he maintains his Bronson appearance
