Did he really cheat?

And does it really matter? I got the impression that she doesnt necessarily know for sure if he did after his little explanation. And to have him be reduced to this simple two dimensional cheater character after how they portrayed him during the falling in love scenes doesnt work for me. And it doesnt really matter ultimately because the bottom line is she wanted no part of being involved with some guy who was in a band and traveled around for months at a time and who she had to even worry about what he was up to AND, more importantly, who wasnt there for her when she needed him. Thats why she broke up with him. Not necessarily because she was convinced he cheated. Otherwise I doubt she would have given him a kiss (off) and probably would have done more then a little slap.

Right, it didn't matter if he really cheated. She was moving into being a stronger, more independent person and her line "I'm not going to be that girl" said it all.

She slapped him because he never called her while on the road, proving himself to be a liar. Whether or not he cheated on her is beside the point.
