It exceeded my expectations.

A lot of people constantly talk about how this movie sucks and is horrendous but seriously what were you expecting?
It's a straight to DVD remake with low budget actors, did you expect it to be good?
I was pleasantly surprised because i found this movie to be funny mostly due to it's cheesiness.
I also doubt that anyone who worked on this film expected it to be very good.
And everyone talks about how the original was so much better, but you have to realize that remakes are much harder to make then originals.
Look at some of these old movies.
Halloween: a movie where the boogeyman posses a by to kill random people, AMAZING!
It's alive: a movie where a woman gives birth to a demonic baby who killed random people, BRILLIANT!
Friday the 13th: a movie where a woman kills random people because her son drowned in the lake, FANTASTIC!
The texas chainsaw massacre: a movie where random people are killed in texas by a chainsaw wielding maniac, PHENOMENAL!

I think I've made my point.

Why would you expect more from a straight to DVD movie?
The original actually had a well known director whereas the remake was made by a bunch of nobodies. Why would you have such high expectations of a movie that was doomed from the get-go?

Well nowadays there's no such thing as a scary movie, especially with unoriginal writer's.
I just don't understand why anyone would have high expectations of a straight to DVD movie mostly because there's a huge chance of them being done badly, given I've seen better straight to DVD movie's, such as "The Hills Run Red" or either of the "Lost Boys" sequels, but I've never heard of a "Great" straight to DVD movie.

No....You made NO point at all except the idiotic point that bad versions of good stories are as valid as good versions of good stories. And, thus...you are a moron.
