A little TOO philisophical?

Im totally going to get flamed for saying this, so I'll say this first: I liked this film, I found it to be quite original, loved the soundtrack...but I have one complaint. It was REALLY hard to follow what the hell they were talking about sometimes (especially during the middle), I dont know if they were referencing poems during those times or something (or the english subtitles I got were....less than perfect), nevertheless, I got disinterested in the film halfway through because of this.

Im all for slow pacing of movies, but when I dont know what the characters are doing/talking about DURING that time, how do you expect the viewer to care what is going on? Now yes, I admit, these parts "went over my head", but still...I think I would have enjoyed this movie a lot more if I didnt have to rewind and try and decipher what the last thing was said.

You cant necessarily understand what is going on. First of all those kids are doing their compulsory service. None of them are professional soldiers. Sometimes they do just try to kill time in the middle of nowhere. If you specifically say what parts you did not get IMDB users may clarify those points.

first of all.. i think this is the best turkish movie i ever watched..

of course you are not able to understand every talk if you watch it in english.. its like i dont watch movies with turkish subtitles.. sometimes its really gets hard to translate.. though i know both english and turkish.. i can say that 70 percent of translations are wrong or not good enough...

we all know too well about those soldiers' emotional states.. so its easy for us to understand.. but the movie has to be made again for you to understand it..
