what are the skull shaped ..um things that you look through.. i cant remember what you call em.... anyway, you look through them at different statues and such and a cutscene plays. whats that all about?

They are basically binoculars to view the magestic scenery of the Metal World. They are essentially the same as the viewing binoculars you get at popular tourist destinations that you have to stick money in to get to work.
