Is it better than Wolf Creek?

Wolf Creek really disappointed me.

I met a six-year-old, with an emotionless face and, these black eyes. The devil's eyes! -Halloween

i've seen both and they are both good films... actually they are quite similar
wolf creek slowly builds to an unbelievably violent ending...i watched crush in Perth in april..crush starts off slowly building the tension..then things start to go wrong for the hero..and then two thirds through it morphs insanely to something quite amazing that i didnt expect..but i dont want to spoil it for you
go see it!

It is ABSOLUTELY NOT better than Wolf Creek.

SPOILERS

Pros - well shot on a budget, at least attempting to be commercial (we could do with a lot more movies like this being made in Australia)

Cons - Chris Egan's questionable accent, wasting Emma Lung in a ridiculous role, failure to be a decent rip off of both Fatal Attraction and Swimfan, twist obvious about 20-30 minutes in, annoying and cheap cliched horror score by Jamie Blanks, awkward and unnescessary supernatural angle, barely any tension and a dull climax.

its not as good as Wolf Creek, but its still pretty good for an indie

"It's still pretty good for an indie", what is that supposed to mean? It's as if you're suggesting most indies are rubbish, which seems a tad ignorant. The majority of the films I like are indies because they're done with their own style of class. Look at the recent uprising of the mumblecore genre, it's changed the way even the likes of Hollywood looks at comedies now. Films such as The Puffy Chair, Funny Ha Ha, Hump Day, they are practically zero-budget films and are succeeding in areas that a majority of films that make a large theatrical run are failing. Then look at indie-horror, the Australian film Lake Mungo was one of the first horror films in years to actually give me chills, and the US have now picked it up for a remake. But you can't go past what I believe is the greatest horror film of the last twenty years, The Hamiltons, an indie film that took the US horror scene by storm with its clever writing and heavily developed characters.

Sorry about the passionate rant, but I believe independent films are the future for Australian cinema internationally, especially if funding bodies are just going to continue to fund the same style of drama film over and over.

First of all, why are you even comparing it to Wolf Creek. Two completely different movies. The only similarity is that they are set in Australia. If you are going to compare the two, I would say Wolf Creek has this one beat by a country mile.
