awful. possible spoilers.

nothing happens in this film for the entire first hour. nothing. there is nothing scary or thrilling about it. up until the last 15 minutes there is nothing whatsoever resembling "supernatural powers", unless you count the ability to unlock doors and cause a toilet to overflow. of course, she may have just had a set of keys like she said she did, because you never actually see her lock or unlock anything. and the toilet, maybe it was just clogged.

the last fifteen minutes you find out she's a ghost of some kind. then she goes from pseudo-hot to zombie-ugly - that's supernatural power number one.

twice she shoots what can only be described as a "hadoken" a la ryu from street fighter - supernatural power number two - which doesn't do much more than push her crush back a few feet.

i don't know why anybody is excited to see this trash.

the only saving grace is the hot goth chick, unfortunately her role only lasts a short scene or two.

i think there was half a nipple-slip once. the rest is just a bunch of bikini scenes. nothing i can't see opening my newspaper and turning the page to get to the underwear advertisements from my local Sears & Roebuck.

i do feel a little bad for the cast and crew that may be reading or posting here, but i do honestly feel if the first hour of the movie was even marginally like the last ten or fifteen minutes, it might have scored a 5 out of 10.

also, the whole martial arts master/architectual student backstory of the main character was completely undeveloped.

45 minutes of the film was wasted to tell that part of the story, and he didn't roundhouse kick the "supernatural" chick even once? didn't throw one punch? he just cried like a little girl and then died. it didn't make a lick of sense.

geez joey. how old are you? I take it you need to go back and watch titanic, maybe more up your sleeve. take the film for what it is. its an australian independent feature. INDEPENDENT. This didnt come from some massive hollywood studio. give them the credit for pulling this thing together. if your australian then SHAME ON YOU for not supporting films from your country.
I think this is one of the best thrillers to come out of australia.

Hey don't feel bad for the Crew - I worked on the film and it was the most fun I've ever had on a film shoot. Usually on Australian films (and more so In Perth) there is just such huge Ego's flying around and its awful. But working on this film didn't and everyone was wonderful to work with.

it's quite clear from your post above and other posts that you have unfortunately shared on IMDB, that you are uneducated, arrogant and, let's face it, downright nasty...

let me guess? you hate your job/studies and your life? no girlfriend and few friends in general? life sucks for you right now because you spend all your waking hours watching Japanese anime or playing computer games?...tell me I'm right! your post above pretty much confirms it...

go read (film critic) Louise Keller's review and then compare it to yours

Rather than just insulting those with whom you don't agree perhaps you could tell us what you yourself found to be so good about this film? What elements of drama, horror, etc did you find that stood out?

WOW is right...but my WOW is for your response. I don't even understand what the point of saying any of this is except to insult the O.P. because you don't agree with their opinion of the movie. There are no professional reviewers on this board, lol, just every day people. So I really don't understand why you expect the O.P.'s review to be on par with a professional film critic that does this for a living. And by the way, just because someone is a film critic does not mean they are RIGHT. That's the beauty of movies...everyone has a different take on them but not everyone is right. There is no right or wrong opinion. BTW the only "nasty" person I see in this thread is you.

adding nice songs to really really bad acting and thrilling music (like something-bad-is-going-to-happen) to bad soap opera/athousand times played plots

Appropriate or not, that's the consensus. Must be tough to be you, living in this world with things being out of your control. The movie is pretty bad, barely worthy of a 4.

I just watched it. It was pretty terrible. The girl who played Anna the ghost/demon girl was great though, very attractive and a great actress. Actually the acting was pretty ok all 'round, it just took SO long to get started, I actually fast forwarded about 20 mins near the start. I like supporting Aussie horror (I just bought 'Cut' the late 90's Aussie horror with Kylie Minogue and Molly RIngwald) but this film I thought had a bad script and was very unoriginal. I think NZ horror (when they do do it) could show us Aussie's a few things on making a small budget go a long way.
