Help me get this off the air. How do i sue these people

I'm schizophrenic and i'm absolutly appauled by this show. Face it these kids have mental illnesses like me. I hear voices, I see and feel things that aren't there. For a long time I thought I was talking to people telepathically.

The cameramen keep asking the kids if what they see or feel is real. Of course the kids will say yes. They are not lieing, and strapping em to a lie detector (which i'm sure they will do) does not prove they are pyschic. It proves they are mentally ill. I truely believed that i was pyschic and it took a long time for me to realize i wasn't.

I wish I could sue these parents for messing with their children's condition. One day these parent's will finally realize their kids are insane and sue the tv production company for exploiting them. Mark my words.

What can I do to get this show off the air. I will do anything. Please help me with ideas of how to do this.

I was tortured in my head when I wasnt on medication. I know how these kids feel. And THE ONLY thing that will help is medication. Not therapy or a tv show telling them they are pyschic.

Seriously lawyers need to sue these parents and seperate them from their kids if they don't treat their mental illnesses. It will only get worse and worse without treatment.

reply

I am so sorry for what you are going through. Mental illness is incredibly tough (I am bi-polar) and it sickens me watching this show to see what they are doing to these kids. Regardless of whether the kids really are mentally ill or not the fact remains that these parents are screwing these kids up with all this nonsense. And the "Dr" on this show? She should lose her license asap. Now not only are these kids thinking they can see ghosts they are also going to be teased mercilessly by their peers. It's just not right and I am so disappointed by A&E for even showing this nonsense.

Good luck to you gm corsica and keep with the meds. I know my meds have saved my life.

reply

I am glad to see someone else was disgusted by this show too.

I agree that they may be teased a lot now. We can talk to people our age about our illnesses because adults (well most) are much more mature and will understand. These kids don't have that same opportunity.

reply

[deleted]

DR. lisa told the kids if they see a psychologist that they will be taken away. This doctor is trying to scare these children away from medical doctors who would be able to easily explain what is happening to them.

No i don't believe in ghosts nor do I believe in a God. But to be honest I hope i'm wrong and there is life after death.

There is just no scientific evidence of adult mediums or psychics having any supernatural powers. Until there is I can't believe they are real.

I do think that evolutionally it is possible that some new gift will be bestowed upon humans whereby we have telepathic powers. Communicating through brain waves could evolve to reality. But I see this as far off. There is no telling how far evolution will go.

I just think that when or if this happens, we will be easily able to prove it. So no proof now, means it hasnt occured.

reply

"There is just no scientific evidence of adult mediums or psychics having any supernatural powers. Until there is I can't believe they are real."

Exactly. Supernatural. It's beyond normal scientific hypotheses and formula. But, as far as spiritual entities/ghosts/whatever you want to call them go, there's plenty of physical evidence of their presence: cold spots, static spots, EMF, EVP...etc.

Not everything has to be explained in black and white or written out in plain letters for it to exist.

reply

You think cold spots are evidence of ghosts lol

Isn't it more likely that the air is just cool? lol

Static spots could be explained by i don't know, static electricity? How is that proof of a ghost.

Emf, Evp proof ghosts exist? You say supernatural things are beyand scientific hypotheses then you say that scientific instruments prove ghosts exist. What a hypocrit you are.

You're post made me laugh. You need no proof to believe in psychic powers but all the proof that mental illnesses exist you ignore.

Mental illnesses are real. There are no psychics or ghosts.

reply

Okay, Jack-@ss! I never dismissed that mental illness was real. And I wasn't being a hyprocrite, either. Ghost-hunting/psychic ability isn't a tried & true science, so there's no machine that you can just hook up to people to see if they can see spirits. But there is lots of documentation about disturbances/entities drawing energy from the air around them, creating electrical/hot/cold spots in just one area. Just because you don't believe in something, doesn't mean you can ridicule others for believing it. If you don't like what the show is about, then change the channel, or better yet, never start watching. I was trying to explain nicely and you turned it into a flame war.

I happen to live in a home that has had A LOT of paranormal activity that not only I have seen and heard, but my mother, friends and other family members have experienced also. I also new an older woman who had psychic abilities and she knew many things that she had absolutely NO way of knowing. There are a lot of con men/women who claim to be psychic and that has given all psychics a bad name.

There was no reason for attacking the previous poster (master angelus) because of their beliefs!

If you don't like this show, then DON'T WATCH IT! Simple as that!

reply

excuse me, but she attacked my beliefs first. She was saying I was wrong first.

reply

You are laughing about the existence of ghosts and psychics and at her/his post. I would be pretty angry if I were her/him!

reply

Yes there is a way to have a machine see what supposed psychics see.

Our eyes only work one way. They see light. There are no other things in our eyes that can see anything else.

If you can see something, then everyone else would be able to see it also.

Provide me with evidence in the human eye of an organ or a new cone or rod that can see something other than light.

BTW i didnt turn it into a flamewar, you are the only one calling people names.

Provide credible proof of this documentation about entities drawing energy from the air, and I bet I can find the true scientific reason.

reply

I support you in saying that none of that "super natural" stuff exist, because it's physically impossible, but there are more ways to "see" things while not through your eyes.
It's been proven that certain electromagnetic disturbances can "short out" your brain, and get your vision blurred or filled with spots. Sometimes these spots will get filled up by whatever the brain sees fit. All of us have a natural blind spot just on the part of the eye on the side that faces away from the nose, and it works the same way.

There are too many ways that can cause an individual to actually think they see something, when in fact nothing is there. That's why sometimes video won't capture what people saw. As for the reversed situation: how many videos DO show ghosts, compared to those that don't? Statistically it is possible that one of the following happened:
Sun storm radiation that hit the earth, can cause mild electrical device malfunction.
Power surges in electronic wiring in or around the house.
Presence of a central power company capacitor.
Though usually the blame falls on really REALLY bad and lousy equipment.

On the other hand there's not a single proof that shows even the slightest possibility of a "super natural" event. All of these events, upon actual investigation and thorough research, can be dismissed as absolutely natural events.

As for psychic abilities: our brain, and body in general, cannot create enough energy to travel farther than a couple of millimeters away from our scalp, and even that's only thermal energy. Not any kind of electric or wave-based energy pattern. I'm talking about pure math of the energetic potential the body has. Therefore to be a psychic one would first need to come up with an amplification device that will be placed on the user's head - and only then will it be possible for them to transmit thoughts (in theory) to more recipients than just the lice on their heads (should they have any).

I just realized I used waaaay too many parenthesis and quotation marks, but my point is clear nonetheless.

Have a good day :)

reply

But there is lots of documentation about disturbances/entities drawing energy from the air around them

No there isn't. "Documentation" implies data or evidence. There is no evidence. You are echoing an often-repeated hypothesis that has no evidence or data supporting it.

Just because you don't believe in something, doesn't mean you can ridicule others for believing it.

I try to show some respect for people's beliefs, but I am fully entitled to ridicule you for why you believe in something when you ignore reason, rationality and critical thought when arriving at your conclusions.

"I do think that evolutionally it is possible that some new gift will be bestowed upon humans whereby we have telepathic powers. Communicating through brain waves could evolve to reality. But I see this as far off. There is no telling how far evolution will go."

---F.Y.I. Evolution can't be scientifically proven either. That's why it's still called "The THEORY of evolution". I find it interesting that you have no problem believing that, but do not believe in God or anything else for that matter.

reply

What are you even talking about? Evolution is a fact. How it happens is the theory.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

reply

I would have to disagree with you Atheist. While their must be evidence for a theory to be presented in the scientific community their are several facts that can prove that evolution is not a valid theory. I choose to believe that for the most part it is correct, but their are still indigenous populations in Mexico and other places have not full physically developed at the same pace modern mexico and other continental populations have. Take the Oaxacan's for example. Their stunted growth and hair laden women are signs that evolution does not always occur in certain population secs.

reply

Like I said you're arguing about how it happens. Biological evolution is fact and the historical evidence is overwhelming. You're arguing about natural selection. These people evolved but their evolution being stagnant doesn't make evolution a invalid theory. It makes how it occurs arguable.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

What facts would these be?

And the statement that "evolution does not always occur in certain population secs" is patently false. Do you have a study that shows that Oaxaca has people of shorter height and "hair laden women" than other regions of Mexico?

Here are a few things to make you think. Is the world flat or round? How was it proven? When someone in the room with you yawns, do most people catch the yawns? The shroud of Turin has not been truly proven that it is real, the ark of the covenant has never been found, although we have found stories telling of them. Does that mean that these things or phenomena don't exist? It is truly a belief, and some it is gospel. think what you will there will always be non-believers and skeptics. Until you yourself is hit smack in the face with a paranormal event you will not believe in it. I have lived it all my life, from things flying of shelfs to answered questions with light responses. I have actually visually seen ghosts and orbs. When in some of the orbs' presence they will actually follow commands, because they do want to be seen for whatever reason. I have had my hair pulled in a haunted house when noone was around. My children and I will be on Psychic Kids season 2. WE have been filmed, and yes my kids wanted to learn how to handle there gifts and to empower themselves, instead of being fearful. That is what they did at the show. Just like at a young age you are sent to school to learn reading and math for your life skills to help you to advance, this show allows gifted children a place to reach out and get help from people that have experienced this sort of life and are helping them deal with it. There was a talk with one of the other parents about starting a summer camp for paranormal children, but we would need the help of a lot of people. But there is defintely a need for kids like this to get together bond and grow. Just like some go to Church camp to bond with others in their belief. Sueing people is really the wrong way to handle it and as our constitution says we have freedom of speech. No matter how stupid some of us think there statements are.

reply

[deleted]

Not every person who claims to be psychic is schizophrenic! Just because you had a bad experience doesn't mean that these kids are being exploited or misdiagnosed.

If you don't like the show, then change the channel!

reply

I don't think these kids are schizo but I don't think they're psychic either. I'm watching Faith, Ahli, and Jillian and I have reasonable explainations for at least two of them. Faith is an 8 year old girl with an imaginary friend whose parents have convinced her that it's something more and as a result she's going to grow up thinking she has this gift that she doesn't have and it will potentially ruin her life. I think Jillian might have an aneurysm, she sees things and when she sees things she gets headaches. I think her mother needs to get her really checked out by a doctor. That or the girl just gets really bad migranes and a good imagination. Ahli I haven't heard enough about her but I believe she started off like Faith. She was just an ordinary kid with an imaginary friend, whose parents comvinced her that it was something more. And for those who will say well how did she have all of that information I had a VERY detalied life for my imaginary friend as a child. Oh and one of the girls drew a picture of the building, if that's a psychic ability than I'm psychic, but I call it strong desha vu. I feel really bad for these kids. They probably started as normal kids with great imaginations whose parents made them think it was something else.

reply

Hey, *beep* I don't give a damn if you're dumber than hell and retarded to boot, here's how it goes down. Psychic abilities are real, for some of us they are a day-to-day experience. Just because you learned to take some chemicals to regress your mind to where you could use less of your potential doesn't mean psychic "powers" are fake. Maybe YOURS were - and maybe not - but if people want to practice them, it's certainly not up to you to go *beep* with it.

reply

Lol. Face it man, everyone who thinks they are psychic are mentally ill. None of you can prove you are psychic. Never. You are so easily convinced of psychic powers yet you deny mental illnesses exist.

reply

[deleted]

[deleted]

I think you need to up your dosage of antipsychotics. Just because you had a bad experience and thought you were psychic doesn't mean that is these children's problem. They are not going to take this show off the air because one mentally ill person is offended by it. Sorry, but that's the truth.

If you hate the show, then I would suggest turning the channel and watch something else.

reply

[deleted]

I've worked with the mentally ill for a long time. There are other things, beyond hearing voices and such, that identify someone as schizophrenic. (And I have serious doubts that you are.) You should know that the medication causes serious side effects, which is good reason to NOT give it to someone who is fully functioning. In a true schizophrenic, it affects their daily functioning and generally the voices tell schizophrenics to harm themselves, etc. I've only seen two episodes, but the kids do not present as schizophrenic and I'm sure part of the reason they have the psychologist there (and they probably pre-screen) is to rule out the schizophrenics.

You seriously doubt i am? How do you make that assumption? You are saying I am wrong about diagnosing these kids, yet you make a diagnosis than i am sane based on a few posts on the imdb forum.

You are wrong about the medication. Medication gives me no serious side effects. To some people it does, but the medical advances in the field of mental illnesses are reducing these side effects a lot.

It is obvious by your comments that you don't know as much about schizophrenia as i do. But that's not your fault. You can't know schizophrenia better than someone who lives with it every day. So don't take offense to that.
You also don't take the medication so you can't know the side effects better than I do.

reply

[deleted]

thank you keller. You said what I was trying to say without being hostile like me. I have a huge problem with people posing as mentally ill.

reply

[deleted]

Sorry, but you are wrong again. THe biggest reason people don't take their medication is because they don't believe they are sick. That shows your ignorance.

I never said hearing voices was all the condition was about. I you want to really hear all my symptoms I'll tell them, but that's not really any of your business.

Also I never said my absence of medication side effects applied to all people. I said in my personal experience, I didn't have any. In fact the only thing they have done is cause me to gain ten pounds, and seeing as how I'm very skinny I can deal with that.

You were the one who claimed the medication had horrible side effects. You were the one that generalized.

What statement about schizophrenia have I said that is wrong. You won't find one. I am not ignorant, but instead well researched because I want to know about the disease I suffer from.

I am a licensed therapist, and if you were schizo and not on medication you would not be on the internet writing. You would be having delusions and hearing voices, and your paranoia would prohibit you from functioning more than likely. Schizo is a biological condition troll boy, and maybe you should read up better on it next time before pretending and playing cops and robbers on the interweb. Quit trolling and acting like an idiot. I e stalked your posts, and your just a pathetic troll. Seriously, instead of making up stupid threads you should go make a few friends, leave the house once in a while, and maybe try to forgive yourself for being such a lame person. This is pathetic.

reply

Wow, a licensed therapist has the time to stalk someone on the "interweb"? And call them names like "troll boy" and "pathetic" and "lame person"? I'd hate to be one of your patients.

Thats right CKent2 cause the interweb and personal life have everything to do with one another. Follow your own signature. Oh and I always enjoy chat rooms where people defend trolls. Make your argument for his stupid post. I can't wait to rebut.

Hey, I just wondered how a licensed therapist who can diagnose mental illness online without even speaking to someone has the time to spend so much time on message boards calling out trolls.

You are definitely not a licensed therapist. If you are, what's your speciality? What state are you licensed in?

Read my profile. I am an LCSW, and yes I work with sexual offenders, schizos, and other mental disorders all day. Quit trolling. It is not up to me to prove anything about this troll or to you. Nor am I going to let some idiot with no common sense get a rise out of me. That is as far into my personal space that you get. I completed my undergrad and masters at USC. Figure out where I live from that. If this guy was legitimately schizo he would not be on a board flipping out in this manner. Suing a show over ghosts has nothing to do with schizophrenia.

reply

Read my profile.

Oh well, that proves it.

It is not up to me to prove anything about this troll or to you. Nor am I going to let some idiot with no common sense get a rise out of me.

And well you shouldn't. And I won't let some idiot who claims to be a therapist who mocks someone who says they have a mental illness get a rise out of me either.

If this guy was legitimately schizo he would not be on a board flipping out in this manner. Suing a show over ghosts has nothing to do with schizophrenia.

Why wouldn't he be upset? Seems reasonable if some of these kids might be suffering from mental illness that a person with a similar illness might be upset that they aren't getting the help they need. Gosh, I'd think a licensed therapist would have put that together. I'd also think a licensed therapist with a masters from USC would be educated enough to not believe in ghosts. And spell better too, dude, you are an atrocious speller.

Wow trolling idiots are abundant on this board. You sir are a sad case of bad parenting gone wrong. Someone really must hate their life to sit on an internet forum and make stuff up. You just don't like the fact someone called you on your BS. The part that cracks me up about trolls is they are so into their little gimmick they don't know what is factual and what is fake. I can honestly tell you bud I do actually work in a mental health setting. I honestly am in my second year of PHD studies, and I know a hell of a lot more about treating and identifying the condition than the regular joe schmo. Its just hard for a moron with the maturity of an embryo to understand.
