It was very real. I'm glad they didn't totally give it the Hollywood ending people always expect. The air was thinning in scenes like when Sammy was in the car with that man and especially when he did what he did to Kari. Once he did it again, it was to be expected though.
shareSo real. I grew up in the MS delta and went to public school up to 10th grade. Some of those kids would come to school with burns, bruises, no coat in winter. There was good times too, but you could see a lot of bad *beep* was going on. I go back once in a while, but I could never live there again.
