at the end he thinks he is finally going to have a peaceful life with his family but it seems that while walking on the beach someone come to kill him does he get kill o survive?in the real story he survives and still live in the south of france

It had to do with his monologue, even he say he don't have to look behind because he was in peace he still gonna had to do it, that part of him never gonna dissapear, but I don't think he gets killed or even if something behind him at all.
shareI took it not that someone was following him, but that he'd have to spend his life looking out for that. Just because Zac was in prison didn't mean he couldn't engineer a hit... and he certainly would want to.
I think it also fulfills "movie morality," in that he had been a murderer and as they said "blood doesn't dry." Thus, his penance is to always have to watch for an assassination setup. His family would be unaware of the potential danger.
