Did he swallow a gun?

After seeing an X-Ray picture. Boy, Goldman wasn't very smart for jewish woman. I mean, come on!

reply

No he didn't swallow any gun. Charly refused to be put inside the full body scan machine because he was so paranoid that he would be vulnerable to be hit that the doctors had no choice but to give him a partial xray while he stayed in bed. Therefore the gun he had hidden UNDER HIS MATTRESS showed up through the scan! They actually said it in the scene when the other cop asked the same question.
I thought it was a great movie, and the music was perfect!

reply

This was not a question. The op just pointed out that it is stupid to ask such a question.

The standard procedure for a hospital bed X-Ray would not show an object hidden under the mattress. The radiation source is above the patient, and the film cassette is placed directly under the patient, not under the mattress.

Interestingly, this script error actually makes Det. Goldman's question regarding swallowing the gun more plausible.

The real funny part is a COP asked if he swallowed a revolver. ANY cop would know it wasn't a revolver.

I did like the movie, though.

reply

Yes, the "revolver" part was the worst gaffe.

SPOILER!

I liked it just enough to watch it through. Mainly, I was curious if they would give Zac a big sendoff, but - yawn - it was, as the French say "nonplus."
