Pretty good so far

This movie has been surprisingly good so far. Hopefully it stays that way (about 20 minutes left as I type this).

Well obviously I jinxed it, because sure enough the last 20 minutes were completely terrible.

I was pretty into it and thought it was really creepy. The ranger was being shady from the start so his involvement was no surprise however I think the movie could have done without that whole scenario with the ranger and the other two trying to scare Cassie as a project. I hoped perhaps the ranger could have just been there as a creepy dude to let us continue wondering if someone was indeed playing with Cassie or if it truly was a ghost. It should have just played on the ghost part of the story. I think the part that really made me go "what the hell" is when the ghost proceeded to posses the friend and Cassie is talking to Polly through her friend. That just made it cheesy in my opinion.Maybe it was the convo between Cassie and Polly...I don't know but up until all that stuff unfolded I thought it had promise. Oh and I hated that she wound up with the ranger at the end. What the heck was she thinking?

Anyway,I'm always willing to admit when I'm wrong but did I miss something or does it seem highly unlikely that those 3 would even know Cassie had "problems" and had seeked help? I know Sophia mentions something to Cassie abouth them "sharing" in class but I didn't get the vibe that Cassie would tell her class anything about her previous abduction. The more I think about it,it seems really far fetched that they would zero in on her. Also that they weren't caught breaking in. And why did Andrea impersonate Cassie in the 1st place? What's up with that?

I want to know who made the light at the other (fake) station, and what her compass go kaploohy when she was trying to get away? Also, she ran and ran in the woods and couldn't find her way out so she went back to the cabin. Later, when the ranger and Andrea went to find her, he parked his truck and they walked to the cabin about 5 minutes. Cassie didn't remember how she had gotten there?? She could have walked 5 minutes to the road and been home free!!

I believe Sophia was the one making the light at the non existent station because that is the 1st time Polly contacts Cassie which is really Sophia and that's what leads to the setup of scaring Cassie the following day when the ranger and her eat lunch together and he fills her in on the story of Polly...at least that's the impression I got. It never occurred to me what you mentioned about the ranger and Andrea but you make a valid point. The compass I assumed Cassie was either in a bad section so the compass was just going haywire or that Polly could have been behind it.I wondered about the writing on the wall in her cabin as well "Welcome home Cassie". If it was in fact the classmates doing or if it was Polly's.

They learned about all that from stealing her psychological file.

Probably Cassie seemed skittish to them.

Andrea wanted to know what the psychology department head (sorry, forgot his name) had to say to Cassie. She was nosy and impersonating Cassie was a way to get the information.

The ranger apologized and truly felt bad for the stunt that was played on Cassie. And Cassie always seemed to have a bit of sexual tension between her and the ranger.

There's a lesson in there, somewhere.

I thought it was great, and even somewhat scary until the last like 10 min. I liked the fact that those idiots were doing the fear study, I just wish it would have ended with that. They should have left off the ghost part. Just my opinion though.
