Ending sucked.......

This movie started out good, had a good story line and the acting was mediocre. The scenery and the filming were great. The ending, however, was horrible! It had such potential to be a good movie. Don't waste your time watching it.......you will be dissapointed too.

This was a good movie, the ending was pretty good.

STFU!No really..

I thought the movie was good and I liked the ending. (No spoilers).

It was definitely a cut above the usual made for TV movie.

SPOILERS

Yeah, the movie was a lot better than I thought it would be, up until the last, say, ten minutes when it couldn't decide whether or not it was a ghost story. Ugh. The 'Polly' bit at the end was just horrid, no build up or real storyline or anything. They should've just kept it as it was, really. It was perfectly fine just being a suspense tale, not a ghost story.

You have beautiful eyes. Can I touch them?

I agree with the OP. The middle was fairly interesting and pretty well done, if not entirely predictable.

As a writer, I can tell you that this ending is a "cheat". It allows the main character to confront the spirit, but never really has to do anything about it to send it off - I don't know maybe this is a woman's fantasy (as it was on LMN). Which was lame in upon itself, but then to have it come back? WTF!? I can't believe someone would really be satisfied with this ending.

I just finished watching this film on Sky, and having read the full synopsis just now, they must have changed the ending, and edited out a couple of parts. In this version, as Cassie told the female that she was a lousy chess player, she simply shrugged and left. There was no final "possession" of Andrea, just a final moment of victory between the two friends as Andrea revealed she had stolen Rhett/Dan's car keys, so they would get a taste of their own medicine when they found themselves stranded in the woods. Then the final scene was where Cassie handed in the thesis, kissed Rhett/Dan and made some remark about them having free time to befriend another couple....it was so odd that I am even wondering if the implication was that THEY were the masterminds behind the whole thing.

This was a good premise for a story and most of it was well-executed. Stories like that are always difficult to end well, and yes it was a little disappointing - but on the whole, good entertainment from a TV film.

everytime I see a post from you its complaining about something, get a clue yourself, we are talking about movies and the ending particular, are you 10 y.o. that every single word has to be spelled out and explained? "The Ending Sucked" I think thats pretty clear the thread will be about the ending *beep*

When I want to watch a movie and look it up here to see what it is about, the last thing I would do was go to the message board.

Going to the message board and clicking a thread called "ending sucks", I do wonder what you expected to read. Isn't it obvious the thread starter reveals the ending or well atleast says why he/she think it is bad, and wants to discuss it?

Call me stupid but I simply do not understand why you would take that risk, makes no sense to me...

reply

Yes, I wondered if the implication was that they already knew each other? If so, not a good ending!

I just saw the version without the ghost ending, and it was okay. I read the synopsis then because I was curious about the ghost ending. It could have been ultra creepy if they had only HINTED at the existence of a true ghost (like "I never played chess with you, what are you talking about?" or something) but the possession thing sounded ultra lame, I'm glad my version didn't have it.

reply

Yeah, I'm really glad i saw the version without that ghost thing at the end. It does sound pretty ridiculous.. I agree with the "creepy hints". That would have been great!

reply

i agree :/

i LOVEEE clea duvall so i would of seen this no matter what. but i was kinda dissapointed with the ending, coz the whole film until about the last 15 minutes was awesomeee. i was thinking how creepy it was and trying to guess the twist

it was even really scary when teh lady in white was on the camera. but then as soon as she walked in teh cabin it just startde going downhill lol

and i was expecting a really good twist after that but then...nothing lol

i could of thought of 2 endings that were better xD and i thought of them about a minute after the film ended.
one was that the same things happend except the last scene was her saying something about the walkie talkie, and the girl saying we never used the walkie talkie

or soemthjing to that effect

and the other was they drove off and left the others there for the night to pay them back. and as tehy drive off the walkie talkie crackles and u hear polly lol.

i duno SOMETHING to make it creepy xD
not just "o yea it was a thesis and will u go out with me?"

??

wat a let down

and the other one was

very disappointing ending!

When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...

reply

I disagree. I enjoyed the twist, finally something different!
Having seen a lot of suspense/psychological thrillers and horror movies I was expecting two possible endings as they seem to happen alot in these kinda movies:

1. The one who kidnapped Cassie comes back to torment her more and he is playing with her at the cabin. A "final showdown" happens and result (most probable) in Cassie somehow killing him and walking out of the cabin barely alive.

2. All this is her imagination being alone and paranoid in the middle of nowhere, as she is not over her traumatic experience yet. These things simply did not happen (the things at the cabin) and she gets put in an institution, or wakes up from a mental hospital.

Edit: Just found out there were two endings, wth LOL. The one I saw, the last scene was Cassie kissing Dan/Rhett at school. Have to look up the one with the other ending, I wanna see it. Whats the point of two endings? How can one rate a movie that has two completely different endings, no wonder this movie has "low rating"...
