Policeman enters Sanjay's apartment .....

..sneaks up on Sanjay, whacks him in the head and back with a baseball bat, then binds him to the chair and punches him in the face repeatedly .... I mean, wtf! The police guy didn't have any evidence that Sanjay was involved in the killing of that guy the police found apart from the fact that Sanjay takes the bus every day. I don't think he even told Sanjay that he was of the police. The police guy breaks into someone's home and beats the crap out of that person. Is that a common way to apprehend a suspect? How can this guy be a police officer?

I was thinking the exact same thing... Also, the way they investigate / gather evidence is ridiculous...

Not claiming it really stands up logically, but my impression was that he was beating Sanjay for giving him the slip, and making a fool of him.

Then the police guy really has an anger problem. His character was even less
like-able (and with worse acting) than the 'medical student'.

It was hilarious when Sanjay turned into the Hulk and attacked the police guy.

He is not exactly a policeman. He is Ghajini ' s private investigator. Remember Ghajini told him:"find the killer before the police finds him."
