It's a crying shame.

I wonder if he has any interest at all anymore, whatsoever, in being a serious actor or appearing in good movies.

Last movie I saw him in that had some level of ambition was Motherless Brooklyn (2019). Granted, he's in it for like ten minutes. But his character has a big impact on the story and it was such a breath of fresh air compared to crap like this.

reply

I saw it. Yeah, for the time he's in it I'd say he was taking in seriously.

The last big role he had where I'd say he was actually trying was Glass.

I'm looking over his filmography from the last five years right now. It's hilarious.

I watched the first forty minutes of this thing before I turned it off. He made Megan Fox look like Meryl Streep. I mean, he could have held the script in his hand and read directly from it and done a better job.

reply

So it really is that bad? The article isn't exaggerating?

reply

I'm a big fan of his from back in the day and I haven't seen a lot of his 'newer' stuff so I don't have anything to compare it against except his older work. Yes, he's atrocious and the article is spot on.

The movie itself was incredibly generic and I lost interest. This is coming from a guy who loves serial killer flicks....

The only "real" movies I can recall him being in in recent memory are Glass and Motherless Brooklyn. I legit can't tell if he even gives a shit about trying to be an artist and do real acting anymore.

It seems he does not. Like, he has completely lost interest in the work or in trying to perfect his craft. As far as I can tell, the only thing he wants to do is make money so he can continue to live his life off set.

reply

I'd say the last movie he did that I felt he gave a crap about was Red 2. I mean he actually emoted.

I was hoping he would come back for the Death Wish remake but nope.

reply

I thought he did well with Glass. I have no idea if he actually cared about the work, but I think he at least had the decency to care about turning in a quality product for his old friend M. Night.

reply

looks like the mainstream has finally found out about his 'one day performance' movies lol

reply

and now everyone knows why 😔
