1. At the beginning of the manga he was just finishing 9th grade, last I checked most healthy young men got horny around that age (whether they realized it for what it was or not [] [] )
2. ...uh...are you saying it's wrong for him to like girls? You should really lay off the yaoi fics if you read them. They've been known to pollute the mind [] . And are you sure you're not just skimming pages every once in a while. I'm pretty sure he's over that phase of "not noticing girls" like he was in middle school by now. []
3. My impression is that you really don't understand Manaka's character or the way he thinks at all. Maybe it's because I'm a guy, but most of the things he's thinking about...it isn't so unordinary for guys to think about. [] .
I might see about getting BlackHayate to read it. []
1. The problem isn't that he's too horny - he's unrealistically horny. No guy makes that big of a fuss over the things he does. It makes me wanna say "grow up, you dumb whelp."
2. Of course I'm not saying it's dumb for him to like girls. It's just incredibly stupid for him to put them on a pedestal and think of them as these goddesses (more so Tsukasa and Toujou rather than Kitaooji) rather than human beings. When you put women on a pedestal, you automatically objectify them. That way you don't put enough trust in their sensibility, so you needlessly tiptoe around them (sort of like what he does with the first two girls, again not so much with Kitaooji). Does that make sense?
3. I think I understand Manaka's character pretty well. I just have no respect for it. It's actually why I find this manga so interesting. He's sort of a mirror image of some boys that I consider somewhat like trash. It's certainly ordinary, but again other than his niceness there aren't really redeeming qualities about him. I keep bringing up this point, but take for example the part when he wants to get back with Tsukasa when he knew that the person he really liked was Aya. It's very human, but there's certainly nothing likable about that sort of idiocy.
