so i decided to re-read this from the beginning, paying closer attention, didn't skim through it like last time... & dare i say it, i actually feel a little bit of...... *gag* compassion for this little bastard....

granted, i still think he's a shallow dumbass... but i can't help but feel sorry for him everytime he gets all twitchy & nervous.

but SERIOUSLY how can anyone be retarded enough to not know that Aya & his mysterious strawberry pantie wet dream are the same girl?! glasses & braids are not that drastic of a change!! 0_<

yes, i am on chapter 21. & may i just say, these guys are DISGUSTING! like, the way the boys in this story treat girls is appalling! they're obsessed with boobs & panties & treat "pretty" girls like goddesses, "ugly" girls like scum....... i must say, i like this story. very realistic. XD

Exactly. I also like how the author sort of dismisses their faults, which almost tricks you into thinking the author is male.

i know! i'm guessing her portrayal of stupid ass hole boys were from her own experiences...

& to everyone who's gonna be all full of themselves & come along & tell me "i told you so!", i only continued reading because i felt like i really related to Aya. Junpei is still a dumbass in my eyes. XP

I'm not sure what point you're on, but a bit later on you might stop being able to relate to her because she just turns into another Mary Sue.

that sucks though, seeing as she was the only one i DID like. meh oh well. i should've seen it from a mile away, since typically a girl who's been treated "ugly" forever tends to get caught up in the attention when she suddenly becomes "pretty". bleh

For the record, I don't think Aya is a Mary Sue, though I think her shyness is more annoying than Manaka's indecisiveness .

well, how gawddamn confident would you be if everyone way exaggerated your "uglyness"? i mean to treat a girl so rudely because she doesn't look as attractive when she has her glasses on & then to be completely overwhelmed with attention from shallow, creepy, perverted guys the minute she takes them off? Jeez, i wouldn't be to open either! because either way she gets unwanted attention!

& all these things piss me off, because i totally see this sh!t happening all the time & it's so... real.

& what i find most interesting is all our views & stand points.

i mean, all the guys reading it are all defending Junpei & irritated by the girls, & all the girls reading look at what an ass Junpei really is & really feel more for the girls. really says alot. XD

Lol well Manaka actually isn't as indecisive as the girls make him out to be.

He stated quite clearly somewhere in the manga if Aya would just say that she liked him, then he would stop being so indecisive. And much like real life, everyone around Manaka can tell that she likes him...everyone except him.

Call it stupidity or whatever you want. The truth is Manaka is not a playboy. He can't tell if a girl likes him or not unless they are upfront about it. Manaka doesn't have a lot of confidence in himself like most guys. That's why he's so hesitant in his relationships with the girls. He tries to be confident, but normally what ends up happening is he makes a fool of himself.

I digress, tis only but a difference in opinion anyway.
I do hope you think about it from that standpoint though.

hey, i said i felt some compassion for him! he obviously has no confidence & is a nervous, twitchy little thing! XD

now, to look at it with empathy, i can see what a difficult decision he's going through, being a young boy with low self-esteem who suddenly has all these pretty girls, he must be overwhelmed & confused.

but speaking as a girl who's been in a situation like this, if he's really not sure who he likes best, then he needs to stop being so selfish & stupid & stop leading them all on, because his stupidity is more hurtful than he may think.

I can understand completely the situation it puts the girls in, and for the most part I can relate with this post. I even find it agreeable to some extent believe it or not.

i still don't necessarily like him... but seeing as he's a confused 15 year old boy, i suppose in some aspects, i feel for him.

i mean how many 15 year old boys' first motive when it comes to girls is to "respect a girl & like her for her great personality!" over "wow she's hot!" afterall...

but if he hasn't grown up by the end of it, i will be infuriated. XD

Haha yeah you'll hate a lot of the characters in School Days, ESPECIALLY manwhore Makoto lol. And it gets really fcked up. It's entertaining It's 12 episodes I believe, not that long. So watch it!

But I don't justify what he does by blaming it on ignorance and "confusion" like you guys are because there's NO ONE that dumb.

You'd be surprised.

If your baby sister were to date someone like Junpei, that's fooling around with 3 girls or whatever you call it, would you be like "oh I totally understand his feelings and blablabla"?

Nope probably not, but she probably wouldn't want me telling her what she should do with her life anyway. Interesting scenario though.

I know this is a fictional character but for you guys to defend him and call him a deep complex character just because you can identify yourself with him is beyond me.

As far as a complex character goes, your right, he isn't exactly a Sasuke Uchiha. This isn't going to make any sense probably, but a character doesn't necessarily have to be complex in order to be a complex character...in my opinion.

SD, you say Junpei would stop doing the stuff he did if Aya told him whatever she was feeling for him. I am sorry but that is complete and utter bullsh!t.

If you keep reading the manga, you will realize sooner or later how wrong this statement is. Trust me, once he has his mind set on someone he won't betray those feelings.

Why does he have to wait for her to tell him what she feels for him? Why can't he break it off with the girls and have some time to THINK?

They're his friends before anything else. They all go on summer vacations to shoot movies and have fun. Would you be willing to sacrifice your friends for such a reason? Probably not. Why? Because it's a lame reason. Besides Manaka does try to "break it off" in some sense. He refuses to accept gifts from Satsuki and Aya, but Satsuki and Aya wouldn't hear any of it and forced the gifts on him anyway.

I just seriously can't understand all this hate on Manaka while you're feeling sorry for the girls. It takes two to tango, so I really don't see why you all always fault him for everything.

Oh yeah, totally. It's not very self respecting IMO. The reason I like her, though, is because it's almost exactly what any guy would do in one of these stories, so she doesn't just scamper off.

Yeah, Satsuki really isn't very self-respecting. Manaka even tells her that she should have more respect for herself, but alas Satsuki can be a little daft sometimes .

And yes that is right Yaa Yaa. This doesn't turn into some gay harem story where Manaka gets together with everyone and lives happily ever after the end. He will either choose somebody by the end or it will be a tragic ending. Like I told you all before...Manaka isn't a playboy.
