Same opening as 'Loves of a Blonde'

2:09 to 5:10. Homage, plagiarism, or something that sneaked into the director's memory, and he didn't realize those images came from a film or childhood dream?

I found this out by accident sometime ago, as both films came into my Netflix delivery at the same time, and I watched them back to back. But there seems to have no mention of why this is, that I can find.

Anyone has insights?

Gosh, that is very similar, isn't it? I'd imagine AGI would be fairly open about his influences, but that seems more like a direct lift than an homage.
