let me get this straight...

It all started with Air Bud a somewhat plausible story with, as i recall, a non-talking dog playing sports. Then they decided Air Bud should play all kinds of other sports. Then when they milked that one enough they decided the dogs should talk and they introduced (a la Beethoven) the puppy versions, the Buddies who were into dog sledding or whatever. Now they decided to take it wayyy off the track by decided they not only talk but should somehow be astronauts! Just making sure I'm getting the premise right!

Sounds about right.

I was just telling my friends how sad it is that they started out with a nice heartwarming story about a kid and his dog and then turn it into this crap.

yeah,crap. they will keep making them until they are no longer profitable. and being as they are dirt cheap to make it will at least 3 or 4 more until they stop.
i bought the original one for my daughter and rented the 2nd one and borrowed space buddies off of somebody. quite a drop in quality i would say if i refuse to pay the 3 bucks to rent it!
if you want to get a movie for your kids to watch try an animated movie of theirs that was at a theatre, you know cars,lion king,madagascar the 1st one,aladdin the 1st one.
do not purchase any disney straight to dvd release...boycott it all!
