What a non-climax. By that logic, how did the demon possess Father Lucas since his faith in God was never compromised?

Why is that ridiculous? That's the point. Doesn't matter how smart you think you are, you can't defeat the devil by outsmarting him. He can only be defeated by God.

By that logic, how did the demon possess Father Lucas since his faith in God was never compromised?
