I sincerely hope its not some hollywood brat pack actor... we need a British actor to do a good job, just like Gary Oldman did lol

i supose an actor like morgan freeman would be ok ..

but he always seems to play someone to do with the FBI or Law

i heard that jude law might be playing him..if thats the case then i dont know how good its gonna be..i personally dont think anyone can pull it off like gary oldman did..and i think jude law would be a joke.

While in the articles I've managed to pull Parker states he wants a more documentarian approach and intends to include never before released footage of the real Sid, they also corroborate the Jude Law angle, though the language was still the noncommittal "in talks". These articles also state they were supposed to begin shooting in January. I can't find any more recent updates. But Law was mentioned in several articles.

Which leads me to my question. The references I've managed to pull all do state that several key roles have been cast from tribute band The Sex Pistols Experience, including SPE's Sophie Boyes being cast as Nancy. This puzzles me. If we're talking budget and names already, which if Law is under consideration we clearly are, casting someone who is an unknown factor in the title role opposite a big name seems like a very risky production decision.

This is doubly true of known characters who were real people and have been portrayed on screen definitively already - it seems an ill-considered choice. Especially since Chloe Webb's performance was on par with Oldman's in the previous film. Anyone trying to play either one has some huge shoes to fill.

Indeed, members of the band "The Sex Pistols Experience" have been cast as the Sex Pistols, and Nancy Spungen. Kid Vicious is playing Sid and it is INSANE how much he looks like Sid:

omg that guy looks just like sid. except he doesn't bad acne. GARY OLDMAN RULED AS SID!!!!

OMG that is awful. That guy is in his 40s and Sid was 21 when he died. how can a man of 40 play sid? I have to see this film, although i aint paying to see it, not now i know that, i shall be wincing at the screen as i watch an over weight, wannabe, 40 plus man try to play a young skinny 21 years old who had a lot of style. Alan Parker, i expected so much more from you, i really did expect a true and realistic film. Lets hope the acting doesnt let down the terrible casting.

I agree. He's definately far too old to be playing Sid Vicious. In other photographs that I saw he looked like quite a big and heavyish guy while Sid Vicious was a skinny adolescent. Makes no sense.

For those worrying about who's playing Sid don't. Kid is an amazing bloke and lives the part of Sid for real day in day out,he knows Sid backwards. The likeness is uncanny and for all those banging on about that he's too old,i can tell you he looks nowhere near his age (and that's without going into make-up darling)and i for one would rather have this guy playing the part than some freaking dandy hollywood celebrity like Jude Law (Christ-on-a-bike!) as have been mentioned. This part has to be done with finness and there's noone i'd trust more to do it justice than Kid. Alan Parker on the other hand may be the one and only one to ruin this. Come on cheer up,it's another Sid story..reeeyhhh!

Bit sad for a guy in his 40s to be living out someone elses persona "day in day out" don't you think? I also agree with the other posters, I just watched the extras on the dvd and that Pistols tribute band were frakkin embarassing. Bunch of old bastards playing at punk, LMFAO. Hillarious.
