Not as good as HSM....

lol, true. But I prefer the songs and they had a better acting cast. I've never been able to watch HSM because I can't stand bad acting...too bad the main actress had to use a voice over.

This has to be the worst drivel I've seen! As for the acting being better than High School Musical's......REALLY? High School Musical is meant to be a little light and campy, and the way the characters are portrayed just further that. I think Zac and Vanessa and Lucas and Monique and Corbin are all credible actors. However, this movie took itself seriously, was meant to not be campy and failed - and where it was supposed to be campy, failed even more miserably. Nina's acting is no better than it was on Degrassi, which is pretty damn bad.

Yes. I'm not going to compare both movies, but I found that American Mall lacked a type of attraction that would make me remember everything. Don't get me wrong, I found the songs catchy and something I could sing along to, but towards the end is where I found the more memorable moments. The beginning had a feel of stalling to when the real drama of the movie happened.

But you have to admit HSM was not really that original either, not that thats a bad thing because you can't really find a fresh plot using an overused cliché of musical teenagers trying to come out of their comfort zones. Its been done as far as the 80's and blaming one movie on stealing something like that is kinda dumb.

Long story short, really enjoyable movie and the acting helped in the lack of originality I guess.......

i thought it was rubbish-a bad version of hsm, the plot line was flat and guessable, the songs wernt catchy and at some points the singing was aweful at the dancing was ametuer aswell, the only character that had any depth was the mean one madison, and she also had a better singing voice than the female lead aswell, a really bad musical
