When there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...

Why do you sound so surprised?

I thought it was pretty good, kind of thought provoking. It must have been really difficult for a woman to adjust to that kind of a harsh life especially coming to marry a man you hadn't even met.

I must respectfully disagree with you-this film was very good and Sorbo gave a strong performance as the ex-sheriff,driven to drink by guilt & grief over the death of his wife. If you had been watching this film closely, you would have noticed that the women(including Olivia)all had emotional baggage to deal with as well. Biggs & the women were only able to deal with their pasts by helping one another. BTW,the same people who produced this film also produced Avenging Angel, which was a pretty good film in and of itself.

The movie was extremely badly edited - practically cut to death. The directing itself, the DOP and quite a bit of the writing weren't all bad, but they did have some severe lacks. The female lead couldn't act - and Sorbo's acting is often suffering when he doesn't have an equal partner. He had some outstanding scenes with Henriksen (who was honestly convincing in a routine-manner, but otherwise obviously rather more in to just take the money and run), with Armenante and the two other ladies - but I agree that he wasn't quite as high up as he normally is. But his scenes also had a cut-to-death feeling to them.

Don Swayze was... well, please, don't tell me that you could make much out of his acting in this movie, that would be simply ridiculous, he was just wasted away. And: he had no brother.

As to the rules of western: I thought it a rather good idea to sidestep the clichés. Should have been better executed, though.

Nothing happening at all except yap yap yap.

Yes, but nobody makles John Wayne-type westerns any more. In fact, not even John Wayne did them for the last decade of his life, I'm afraid. You... haven't really paid much attention to westerns lately (like in the last 40 years or so), right?

And I have seen several modern westerns, and they were all better than this.

Go fish! So has everybody else on the planet. I didn't say you haven't seen any, just that you didn't pay sufficient attention. Seems like you're not much into paying attention anyway.

Is adding ordinary tv movie cliches to a western really something to strive for?

You mean clichés like failure, loss, pain, personality, shrewdness, fear, love? Well, let me put it this way: ever heard of someone running by the name of Will Shakespeare? There only are so many themes to go by, it's how you mix things and how often this has already happened that makes it different from a clichéd view. Name me only one more western broaching the issues of this one. Just one!

I noticed that the TV blurb when I saw it described the three women passengers as eccentric which I don't agree with. If they had contracted prairie fever they were damaged , whereas eccentricity is inherent or a matter of choice.
