WTF? Who just goes around recording every utterance out of their mouth? That comes across as very strange, perhaps even deranged.

shareHe was in a state of grief, and battling against a police department who did not give a damn about his son’s murder. They were victim blaming and wanted to leave it at that. I think he started taping after a rude and heartless detective told him to butt out of the investigation.
People going through stages of grief sometimes need a crutch or habit to get them through each day. He said at one point the family was so distraught they considered family suicide. Sheesh, let the guy have his tape recorder if that helped him get beyond that!
