My thoughts on this documentary

I enjoyed this documentary. I thought it was the most well put-together documentary ever by the Disney company. The special features and audio commentary were also enjoyable as well (especially the studio tours). I enjoyed every minute of it.

Some random points of interest:

* As someone who's all-time favorite Post-Walt/Pre-Mermaid Disney film is Oliver & Company (yes it's true), I think the fact that the film was originally directed by both George Scribner AND Rick Rich, but Rich was fired for not treating Peter Schneider well enough like Scribner did, was probably the most interesting fact about the film ever. I'm surprised it's not mentioned on IMDB or on Wikipedia.

* The footage of Howard Ashman giving a lecture was dated April 28, 1987. But on the original trailer, it's dated October 1984. Ashman couldn't have been working for Disney for THAT long.

* The footage of Ashman coaching Jodi Benson on singing "Part of Your World" is dated in the deleted scenes August 16, 1989. But in the actual film, it's dated August 9, 1988. So which is the correct date?

The Renaissance lasted from 1989 to 1999, they got that wrong.
