MTV is going Downhill Fast!

i totally agree with you! I cant stand seeing reality shows all day long. I want to see videos more. Yeah when they show videos im at work and when i get home in hte morning there on frm like 7-8 then shows again all day long. MTV used to be my favortie channel but now i hate mtv.

Did anyone from MTV listen to justin timberlake at the music awards '07 when he challenged them (MTV) to play more videos!!!

I dont get to watch tv that much but when i do id like to see the hot new videos not some stuck up rich girls on the hills and super sweet 16 and all those other shows. Its just too much. MTV is awful now, i hope they can change it up before they lose tons of ratings

I disagree.

It's simple economics, supply and demand. Right now the public is demanding reality shows, so they supply reality shows (too many lol, but they supply them). When people demand music again, I'm sure MTV will switch gears and supply more music.

The reality show industry is really big right now, they'd be dumb to miss that opportunity.

There actually was a time when MTV aired good shows that weren't music. Around the late-90s and early 00s they actually incorporated their reality/scripted shows and music shows well. There were good shows like Undressed, Daira, Jackass, old seasons of Road Rules, old seasons of RW/RR challenges, and especially old seasons of the Real World (back in a time where getting drunk and laid wasn't the ultimate goal of housemates, yes there was such a time). Now MTV has basically eliminated the music shows and combined to scripted and reality shows to come up with the new wave of reality shows... obviously scripted, as trashy as can be reality shows. That and the arrival of Kallissa Miller have contributed to the downfall of MTV.
