Why hasn't this terrific film been released in the U.S.?

I saw it in March at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC at a film festival Redevous with French Cinema. Now it's OCT 09 and this excellent film has not been released here yet. What a shame, I thought it was an engrossing major work by one of the world's celebrated film makers Costa Garvas and would have wide appeal. It is head over heels better than 95% of all films released recently. Someone please pick this gem up! Does anyone know of any plans for it's release here?

I know, it's sad. Just saw it by pure luck, was flipping through the channels, a scene caught my eye and I ended up watching all of it.

The problem is here in Europe it was advertised as a comedy, which although it may have its moments, it's surely not.

They may not know what to do with it in the States either. It's a difficult film to classify I think.

It probably has not been released on purpose. Censorship. This film raises a lot of issues about humanity.
I could raise a discussion about how America is not a very humanitarian nation but am not here to argue. I dont think values or morals are welcome in American culture just lust, vanity, greed and everything that is the opposite of this beautiful film.
I was moved so much by this film. The dear people and what they must go through. How terrifying. If I could make things right on this planet each one would be safe and kept away from the moron police and idiot governments that harrass and torment decent people that just need to be helped not harrasssed and exploited.
