Why hasn't this aired in Canada?

I really wanted to see this, but we don't get the Lifetime channel.

I was really hoping, since it was filmed here, directed by a Canadian etc, that it would air on a Canadian network.

Maybe next year?

Geesh, everything on TV has been repeats of older Xmas TV movies, you'd think they'd try to air one new thing.

Rant over.

I just watched this tonight on Movie Central (Channel 55 on Shaw Digital Cable in Calgary). Movie Central is a Canadian network, so it is definitely airing on Canadian television.

I missed the beginning, but it was actually kind of cute. One of the better "made for TV Christmas movies" I've seen.

It's funny, as soon as I clicked on to the channel, two of the main leads were in a scene outside talking. (The girl, Roxanne? And the guy, her boyfriend, Dylan?) Anyway, they were outdoors, and even though there was barely any backdrop at all (basically a close up shot) I just got this immediate feeling that it was filmed in Calgary. Don't know why, as I've never even heard of the movie until tonight. Anyway, through out the rest of the movie, which was set in the winter, I just got this feeling that it really was in Calgary although no well known landmarks were ever shown. Something about the snow and the trees! And the style of the house that belonged to Roxanne's mother. Looked like some kind of a Craftsman style house that you'd see downtown. But the dead give away was when the mother and daughter went out to "see the Christmas lights" -- and sure enough, I was positive that it was the Zoo Lights at the Calgary Zoo! LOL Even though I haven't been there for years, it just screamed Zoo Lights to me! It was kind of weird. And then of course at the end of the credits I saw "filmed on location in Calgary, Alberta"....confirmation! ;)

Anyway, it was one of the better Canadian productions I've seen, I really liked the actor playing Dylan. I could have done without Luke Perry in it though. Blech. I saw in the credits that Jason Priestley was in it too *cringe* -- I must have missed him in the earlier part of the movie because I never saw him. (Thank god!)

All in all, it was a pretty cute Christmas movie. Oh -- and if I had to guess, I would say the last scene for the wedding was shot at the infamous Wedding Chapel just west of Calgary! I wonder if I'm right about that too?! :)

I can personally confirm that last suspicion of yours
Amazing guessing.

In the very beginning I saw the street lamps and said 'Hey! That looks like Calgary!'

It just started 10 minutes ago here and the first part I saw when they were backing out of the driveway and down the snowy road, I thought hey, thats Calgary! Came here immediately and I was right!

How weird is that.

I ended up tuning into on W Network this one afternoon even though it's near the end of April, and well past Christmas and too soon in anticipation of it.

http://www.wnetwork.com/schedule/index.asp?CS=2&date=4/26/2009&amp ; ; ;tz=3 (I don't know how long it will work for.) I guess a fan would have to be on the look-out for it.

Edit:

Haha, I didn't even notice that there was another post pointing this out, even though it was part of the 5 that IMDb 'features' on the title's page. Although it's for a time earlier than when I saw it (late January). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1158935/board/nest/128654112
