Iman's connection to Canada?

Love her, but trying to figure out why she is hosting a Canadian show.

When the show started, Heather Marks would have had to forfeit her career for the show. She's not as "old" as Gisele, who only turned 25 three years ago (but 25 is considered old by model runway standards). In fact, when Coco Rocha showed up this season, that would have been practically direct competition between these two models had Heather hosted the show. Besides, it seems the model host tends to be further or at the end of her model career, since Heidi isn't going to be doing anymore runway walks for things like Chanel, Christian Dior, Prada, Armani and such. (Victoria's Secret did help her status a lot, since I don't follow Heidi much, but I can't remember off the top of my head seeing her walk for the other brands I've mentioned.)

Because she's Iman, and she's fabulous!

I'm Canadian and it doesn't bother me that the host is not Canadian, because I think Iman does a great job hosting (much better than Heidi -- Iman knows lots about fashion).

I don't care if Iman doesn't have ties to Canada.
Iman is a beautiful and intelligent woman who knows a lot about fashion.

The only "matter" was my curiosity. Just wondering if perhaps she lived in Canada, did a lot of work in Canada, has family ties, emigrated here etc. This was not a negative post, but rather a nosey one.

As far as I know, Iman has no connection whatsoever with Canada; she was chosen just because a well-known face from fashion was needed.

In the beginning of the show I did not like her very much (she seemed too harsh), but I soon changed my opinion because she is fair, competent, direct and a total no-BS person :)

From all the Project Runways I have seen (USA, UK, Canada and AUS), she and Liz Hurley are my favorite hosts :)

Plus that she looks FABULOUS (surprisingly - considering the age - much better than Heidi)!
