The farmer that saved them

The survivors, especially Canessa and Parrado, stayed in touch with Sergio Catalan and his family over the years, visiting him regularly, facilitating his getting his children a college education, and arranging for him to have a hip replacement a couple of years ago so that he could continue his outdoor lifestyle.
