What a garbage

Fact: Polanski got a 13 year old girl drunk and raped her.

Everything else doesn't really matter. Who cares about the judge and who cares about the mother of the victim? This is an utter garbage and total waste of a film and my time. Only such garbage would make me log in and leave a post about something that came out almost 10 years ago. I praise HBO for providing a great platform for many worthy documentaries, no matter how biased it may be. However, this is a garbage that tries to justify rape.

You did not watch the film. Nowhere did it say that they praise Polanski for what he had done in March 1977.

The problem is that "rape" has a legal definition and a common connotation that are quite different. A guy that has sex on his 18th birthday with his one-day-younger girlfriend has raped her in the legal sense, but no one who uses the word "rape" in the common sense would describe in that way.

The evidence indicates that Polanski and the girl had consensual sex. That is what he admitted to and what both sides accepted as a plea. Yes, it is still legally rape, but what that word conjures to mind does not seem to be what actually occurred.

You're right, Chung, facts suck. They have some nerve trying to fill a documentary with facts so people can better understand the situation!
