the meeting that wasn't

Don Pablo seemed to have a lengthy and positive history with Victor. When Don Pablo meets with the big boss, he is told "he is the only one walking out the door after this *beep* up" then they show the water glass he was drinking from it has some kinda of larva or worms in it. So I believe he is getting a slow death, despite the bosses reassurance that he is getting a "pass". When he realizes he is dying or he has been poisoned he knows they have figured out who and what to do, to rectify the missing money. I believe he wants to give Victor the heads up so he will no longer be a pawn in his own sadistic demise, at the hands of the diabolical Boss.
