Probably not enough celebrities that want to make a fool of themselves. Not many thats all that athletic either. Can you imagine Lady Gaga on the course? Or Taylor Swift? Didnt think so....

reply

I could see Lady Gaga on it :D

Jack Black. I could totally see him doing Wipeout.

I like that they just have regular people doing it. This is not dancing with the stars. part of the charm is rooting for normal people. Plus we would have to get rid of the nicknames. Which again is part of the fun of this show.

reply

Stephen Baldwin would do it... He LOVES the celebrity game shows.

That would be a great idea! And forget about not being athletic. Come on! They obviously prefer out-of shape, unathletic people (who wants to see athletes motor through the courses without a hiccup?

I think they could get LOTS of B and C-list actors on this show. Actors in that category will do ANYTHING to get on camera, and let's face it, being on this show would get ANYONE respect for being a good sport and not taking yourself too seriously.

If I saw Tom Cruise get bounced repeatedly from the balls in slow-mo and have green goo and bowling pins sprayed and thrown in his face by evil clowns, wind up losing in the end and laugh it all off good-naturedly, I'd probably go and see his next movie:)

I do wish they wouldn't so obviously control the machinery to keep the races close. I know it's all just fun, but these people are playing for real money and I like to watch un-rigged competitions. With celebrities, sure. Rig it all you want. I'd love to see the clowns REALLY pick on Tom Cruise:)

Celebs, or their insurance companies, are probably afraid they will break their necks or something. They're always weird when it comes to things like this.

celebrities would never risk this, a good number of these people get hurt, padded course or not

reply

If there were ever a Celeb Wipeout, I bet that Bud from Married...with Children will be on it. David Faustino always does these kinds of shows.

reply

I agree. I am sure that wipeout producers probably have pitched the idea but it would not work based on insurance companies would not let these celebrities do this. If any of you have watched mythbusters. Even some of the stuff on mythbusters look much safer than the stuff on wipeout and they've often said on camera. We need to use a dummy or someone else to do this stunt because our insurance company would not let us do it.

reply

I agree, I don't think there needs to be a Celebrity Wipeout. Plus there's probably insurance issues, as others have said.

reply

Maybe with B-listers and those in rehab/recovery. It's too risky for A-listers. I would love to see Taylor Swift wiped out.

reply

Most of the names people have mentioned would never do it, no a listers would be allowed to even if they wanted.

Some B listers might and most C listers would.

The uk version has done 8 celebrity specials (as well as their version of the normal show - not as good as the US one though imo) with mostly C listers and a smattering of B listers.

Reality TV people would be best for this, "The Real Housewives of Wipeout" is a catchy title...

That'd be hilarious. They'd probably end up getting a lot of people who, you know, wouldn't be recognized by everyone as "celebrities," but people in the entertainment business at any rate. I like this show; it reminds me of MXC, except that the hilariously cynical, snarky commentary isn't a mock-translation of another language. I'd love to run the courses, too. They really look like fun. Same with the Ninja Warrior ones...
