The hypothesis about abuse is quite reasonable. Is wetting beds a good signal of abuse earlier in life?
I thought Mariana was questioning herself about who she was? She apparently lives a comfortable life (she is a microbiologist, she is staying at a hotel managed by foreigners) and she is going to marry in about a year. But now that her fiancée is so oblivious to Karina's situation, Mariana is not sure about spending her life with this guy and is not sure whether she is making decisions about what she really wants.
