What was YOUR 1st R rated movie? Continued.

Hey once again! I posted this about a year ago, but it vanished on me so I guess I'll start it again! My first R was The Lost Boys I think. I used to hate it, but I recently re-discovered it and now it's one of my fave movies of all-time. Anyway, what was yours?

reply

Well, I'm in the UK so the ratings are different, but I remember my first 18-rated film being Die Hard, when I was about tiddly - about 9 I think. I loved it then and still do now.

reply

Its 18 rating over here and I can't remember what it was.
Possibilities are Scream,Full Metal Jacket,Fight Club or Clockwork Orange.

'Hey hey mama said the way you move!'

reply

R over here would be 15 and 18.

reply

Not always! Some PG-13 rated movies are 15 or 18 in the UK.

Repulsion. When I was 8! I know, what was my mom thinking? :)

National Lampoon's Animal House. I was 4. It was on HBO. It got even more awesome when I became old enough to understand it all :D

The Wolfman. I was 8, and I saw it in theaters. It was the firt rated R/horror I've ever seen. I was so scared, excited, and full of suspense at the same time.

I was really disappointed. It was unrealistic, not scary at all, and f#cking boring.

I think Nicholas Sparks is a terrible author

My first R Rated Film Was SPEED. I saw it at a family friend's house, and that was the last time we visited those family friends. haha

I was 9 years old, and when I told my mom at blockbuster that I had seen "that" movie with Andrea, she was not pleased. She also wasn't pleased that Andrea showed me Baywatch. That was a interesting weekend.

But come on, it's just cussing and some explosions and a little gunfire. It is what I call a "Soft R" Rating. It's not like "Hostel" or anything with Rape, Brutal Violence/Torture or other things that could scar a kid for life.

Mine was also Speed! But I saw it in the theatre at 8.

My brother was eaten by wolves on the CT Turnpike

reply

And I don't see anything wrong with that. :)

And I personally think that was one of Keanu's better performances.

reply

I am really going to date myself here LOL...mine was the original Blues Brothers, and it was in the movie theater...I was 9.

I will skin you. I will debone you. I will feed your entrails to our neighbor's Shih Tzu!

I think either lost boys or Terminator 2

The first time I saw Zombieland I was like, really? a reference to Anaconda?

reply

My first R rated movie was Bride of Chucky, when I was maybe 8 or 9.

reply

First one I saw in theaters?
American Wedding I was 11 and I had a few friends who were about 16 sneak me in.

Fast Times At Ridgemont High. Saw it at the drive-in with some friends when we were supposed to go see Airplane. Phoebe Cates will always hold a special place in my heart...
