Wow confusing so far - films and DVD releases

I just got "Deadtime Stories: Volume 1" from Netflix. It was just released on DVD apparently. Netflix has a date on it of 2011 because of this.

"Deadtime Stories: Volume 2" is available for their "Save" queue, also with a 2011 date (those dates on Netflix are typically when the film was released, not when the DVD was released), but with no release date on it. So it's going to be released sometime in the future, but they do not know when.

However, per IMDb, note that "Deadtime Stories: Volume 1" is NOT this film. It's rather the film listed on IMDb at the moment as Deadtime Stories 2 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1334526/), which had a release date of 2010.

Per Netflix' description, the "Deadtime Stories: Volume 2" DVD is rather going to be this film, the one listed on IMDb at the moment as Deadtime Stories (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1156300/), which has a release date of 2009.

So essentially, the numbering of the DVD volumes is backwards from what you'd expect. The Volume 1 DVD is the 2nd film, the volume 2 DVD will be the first film.

I was also trying to figure out whether these two films have anything at all to do with Deadtime Stories from (1986) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092850/), but apparently they do not. I don't know why they'd choose the same title and the same episodic idea given the absence of a connection between the films in terms of studios, writers, directors, etc., especially when the 1986 film seems to be so disliked.

Per IMDb, there's also a Deadtime Stories: Grave Secrets slated to come out in 2012 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2017492/) that appears to have nothing to do with either George Romero or Jeff Monahan, so I have no idea if that's related in any way other than yet another film using the same title.
