Suzanne

I'm disappointed to see that people on this board don't seem to like this movie. Maybe because none of it seems grounded in reality. I loved it. It's so fanciful and quirky and unpredictable. Mathieu Amalric as a policeman matchmaker was hilarious. I like to think that at least half of the movie (the second half) is a fantasy. The first half (with Georges' senile actions) is the more depressing reality.

But the character of Suzanne really confused me. Is she really Georges' wife? Why does she seem to encourage an affair between her husband and this random woman? Suzanne looks so young in comparison to him, I thought she was his daughter and Georges was so mixed-up he pretended he had a wife to the police officers. She didn't look old enough to be the mother of Georges' children, but I guess that actress just looks young?

I enjoyed the movie in all its absurdity! Though in the beginning George mentions in his stream of consciousness that he was afraid the police officer would recognize him and he even thought about killing him. Nothing of this comes back in the rest of the story and I was like what the..! Was he a registered sex offender or what?
