Who is (friend)?

Presumably these questions will be answered in the 2ns and 3rd films, if you can't wait read the manga (which I haven't...).

As it stands now though (SPOILERS):

1) We don't know yet, but its assumed to be that other weird kid.
2) Because so much of society, including the law, is part of the cult - they have framed him.
3) It looked like friend was standing on a big bomb in the final scene.
4) We don't know yet
5) Wouldn't have made a difference
6) I think Donkey was one who's dead the other one i'm not sure, I was wondering that myself
7) That other guy is the politician, friend is the mastermind

I was able to tell who it is looking at his body/head, especially the head as it looks exactly like the character "Fûkubê", the ears and hairstyle matches 100%. I could be wrong and they could of just used him as the "model" for Friend, and as I haven't read the manga it's not 100% sure. Oh and if you listen carefully how Friend talks and then listen to *Fûkubê* you'll notice alot of similarities in their way of speaking.

Keep in mind its a trilogy, most of this should be answered in the next two movies.

But here's some answers from the manga. MAJOR SPOILER ALERT.

1: Who is friend? His character was never shown.

-His real identity is... spoilerspoilerspoilerf.u.k.b.e.i.spoilerspoiler and then later its spoilerspoilerspoilerkatsumataspoilerspoiler

2: How did Kenji become accused of being a terrorist, they never show us that part.

-This is to be released later, but he tried to prevent the incident at haneda airport and people used him as a scape goat.

3: When he blows up the robot, why is the explosion like a nuclear blast?

-The robot, as revealed in the manga, was nuclear powered. The professor in the beginning who went missing was kidnapped for the soul purpose of engineering it.

4: The story of kenji's sister is never explained, was she the one that created the virus? Cause when Kenji goes in her room he finds books about virology.

-THIS SHOULD BE EXPLAINED IN THE LATER MOVIES. Yes, she and one other developed the virus, and later develops a vaccine.

5: Why didn't Kenji leave the robot when he had a chance, I realize that he saw friends true face but still he should have ran.

-SPOILER-he does indeed escape.

6: Who are the 2 other members, its not the twins...then who?
-SPOILERSPOILER- The other two members was keroyon (frog empire dude who ran off), and a cowardly last member who's name escapes me. He later reappears VERY LATE in the story as a radio broadcaster. Sadakiyo wished he was part of the group but was too shy to confront them in the past.

7: friend becomes a politician yet he never shows his face to people.

-Thats because he started as a cult leader, his influence spread and people began to worship him. Although he himself doesnt show his face, Majaoume does. As his spokesperson.

8: Is there going to be a sequel? There has to be, there are things unexplained.

Yes, Its a trilogy.

I skimmed through all this and number 8 is the only one i think is worth answering! because from what i heard, the movie will be a trilogy. so all of your questions should be answered soon enough
