Great film! For all independent horror junkies out there!
I love horror films and when I went to go see myself in a short horror film ("Genital Genocide") I had the pleasure of watching this independent feature film afterwards, at the Chandler Cinemas here in the Phoenix area of Arizona. I love this movie!
This was actually a very well done movie! These guys knew how to make a movie original, gory, and delicious with every single scene. The beginning seemed worth walking out on, because it seemed to be setting up the same Christian blood-slaughter flick, but in time you realize that this is actually a movie worth sitting through.
This movie was very good. There is for the whole picture itself a generous amount of characters with original character-names, plus greatly-imagined quick-to-fish backgrounds, with somewhat commonplace animosities OR attractions towards each other. The monster of the movie is a tortured science-experiment-gone-wrong named Alexa who is the grandiose star of the film, which during the filming some girls were screaming, "Michelle, you're hot!" I thought the same thing. For a bound up cannibalistic monster she was rather attractive in a primal sense. She pulled off an amazing job playing the monster of the story.
That's not it though. The villain(s) were spectacular. Albeit with a predictable twist (in my part), still it was so grounded-to-earth and relayed on everyday hatreds that we can't ignore. Plus, the religious scope of the film. The main villain is named Denny who is "AKA 'The Showman,' AKA 'Crazy *beep* " who just blows away the movie with an amazing performance as Christian zealot who is hell-bent on killing all sinners by attracting them through a sadomasochistic online network to see a real-life murder. Little do they know...things change throughout the progression of things. (hehe...)
Then...there's the central actress. Miss Vargas as Ana Romero. She plays such a violent, blessed, rabid heroine she takes on the monster Alexa then takes on all the central enemies of the plot making them wish they weren't as insane as they are. Of course there is a very harsh and unexpecting ending no one can predict, but still it's very well worth-seeing, if the filmmakers bring this picture to a town near you, and I for one who has sat through many of the greatest horror pictures I can catch at the theaters, highly recommend this masterpiesce to all the horror buffs out there. An Arizona-fresh-made gore-flick that truly does a number on the "originality count" and proves to be a genuine "survivalist-takes-all" picture. Go see it if it's playing near you and if you want a gory, *beep* natural, original horror movie to see, then this is the movie for you.
DEATH FACTORY: BLOODLETTING.
I seriously can't wait to get this on DVD for my collection. This is one for the horror history books, my visceral friends.
