Philippe Petit reminds me of...

Malcolm McDowell, especially how similar he looked like him in this movie compared to how Malcolm looked in A Clockwork Orange, the sex reenactment at the end solidified that belief compared to the one in A Clockwork Orange.

Even though Im no more than a monster - don't I, too, have the right to live? -Oh Dae-Su

I was just about to say that. Petit's face, build, hair and expressions look a lot like Alex in A Clockwork Orange.

Esp in the old photographs and home movies. Not so much the present day footage at all. I thought it was a different person re-creating events in the old scenes. The photography looked too smooth and clean given the period. Not grainy or damaged or out of focus as much as you'd expect unless shot professionally.

I wondered that too.. it all seemed very professional.. but then I thought, perhaps they were filmed for a documentary at the time or something? I wondered how they made the money to travel around so much as well so thought paid tv appearances may explain that too

Ha, I watched this this weekend finally and thought the same thing. They even did the high speed undress love scene like in A Clockwork Orange.

reply

Definitely, felt that the whole way through, too!

I can see that. Who I kept seeing was Doug Jones. Not that Joseph Gorden-Levitt didn't do a great job, he really captured the infectious and kind of furious passion of this man. Doug Jones is what I call a "full body" actor. Because of his background as a mime and contortionist, not to mention the list of creature roles he's played, he has a wonderful awareness/control in the way he moves his body. I feel like he could have told so much of the story adding a richer aspect to that "walk amongst the clouds"

I thought the same!
