kung fu training after Han's emotional breakdown

Not a big fan of this movie, but I'm a big fan of that scene. I love how instead of having Dre deliver some big pep talk speech to Han as he breaks down crying, he just tells him to man up and start doing some kung fu.

It's great, non-verbal storytelling right there. The action alone speaks way more of how Dre and Mr. Han complete each other than words could. It's also not a bad way to cheer a friend up in real-life. If someone you know wallows about in self-loathing, sometimes the best way to pull them back up is to get them to do something they consider meaningful (after you show the right amount of empathy and concern, of course).

The score and cinematography is also outstanding in that scene. I love how the vehicle's headlights serves as a source for their silhouette as they practice their wushu. Not only is it visually striking, but it makes perfect sense within the reality of the scene too. James Horner's score, I dare say, is actually better than Bill Conti's original (though, I do miss the 80's tracks).

So yeah, great scene.

I thought it was well done too.

My favourite moment, shot-wise, was the matching transition from the raindrops on the window to the alignment of the students.
