Did Peter and Zooey even have
Onscreen chemistry? I thought they seemed as if they were two people just settling on each other. I don't think they made a good movie couple. No passion.
shareI actually really enjoyed watching them as a couple -- I especially liked how supportive they were of each other and how they respectfully and rationally worked through their problems. I suppose you could argue that their relationship lacked passion but I thought it came across as a realistic, adult relationship.
My husband and I love each other very much and have a pretty easygoing relationship with not a lot of drama and so I can't relate to a lot of the 'passionate' couples you see on-screen. (I'm not saying anything is wrong with more intense relationships, I just haven't experienced it myself ;-))
I can understand what you mean. I think the scene that really sticks out for me is the one where Peter is trying to enthusiastically explain who Rush is and she was annoyingly clueless. Like, stupidly clueless. And at the concert that she really wasn't interested in...she was annoyed that he paid more attention to Sydney! She shouldn't have even been at that concert, she had no appreciation or respect for the band and the friendship bond the guys had.
I know, couples can't agree on everything, and don't always share the same interests. But to me they seemed terribly mismatched and Rashida was miscast.
