when did the king sleep with the queen?

He never did. Hong Lim is the only person that has ever sleep with her. Hong Lim took her virginity on the second night of the ritual. The king physically can't have sex with a woman because he is so unattracted and repulsed to the idea of having sex with one that he can't perform. That's why he asked HL to do it. He assumed HL would do it without any problems and just get the queen pregnant. He didn't know that HL would like it and then fall in love with the queen in the process.

just wondering if this is a true story

so, the king is homosexual and like/love HongLim for many years

HongLim has been with the king since he was a kid

so, HongLim is homosexual too becuase he had only been with the king

then, HongLim was ordered by the king to get the queen pregnant

interesting how HongLim just went ahead & did it & like it

You do know that they can simulate the act right? As in pretend to go through motions? It doesn'T mean they actually did it. THis is not porn.

He didn't, he said he couldn't be with a woman, that's why he entrusted Hong Lim to sleep with her.

At the beginning, the King says to Queen: "As you may already know, I am incapable of taking a woman.."
It is possible that the King had actually tried to sleep with the Queen in the past but just could not perform due to absolutely no sexual desire for her or women in general. In any case, it was clear having sex with her was not an option.
